We make practical marketing tools for independent salon owners. No fluff, no theory you'll never use, just what actually creates bookings for salons like yours.

We're trained hairstylists turned marketers and sales leaders. After spending a decade working in and around the hair industry, we made a deliberate pivot and left the chair behind to pursue marketing. What started as a career change quickly revealed itself as a superpower: combining hands-on industry knowledge with real marketing and sales experience. We built brand love and loyalty behind the scenes at one of the world's most recognised hair styling brands, then went on to lead marketing and sales across major retail, fashion, and fitness businesses.
No matter the industry, we kept coming back to the same thought: the hair and beauty industry is full of incredibly talented people who were never taught how to market themselves.
Salon owners are expected to be the stylist, the receptionist, the bookkeeper, the social media manager, and the CEO. All at once. Most marketing advice out there is written for tech startups or e-commerce brands with teams and budgets. It doesn't translate to an independent salon with a full book and no marketing budget to spare.
Gorilla Society exists to change that.
On the surface: it's a nod to guerrilla marketing, the idea that you don't need a massive budget to make a big impact. You just need the right strategy, the right timing, and the willingness to show up consistently.
But it goes a bit deeper than that.
"Gorilla Society" is also a quiet piece of social commentary. At the end of the day, we're all just highly evolved animals: emotionally driven, socially wired, and responding to the world around us in ways that are more instinctive than rational. Marketing, when you strip it back, is really just applied psychology. It's understanding what makes people feel something and why that feeling moves them to act. That's it. That's the whole game.
We thought that deserved a name that acknowledged it honestly.
The cartoon aesthetic is intentional too. Marketing can feel serious, clinical, overwhelming, or like it belongs to people with letters after their names and corporate budgets. We didn't want that. We wanted something that felt accessible and playful. Because the truth is, it shouldn't feel heavy. Try something. If it works, amplify it. If it doesn't, you've learned something and you try the next thing.
That's the whole philosophy behind us.
We’d rather you do something imperfect this week than plan the perfect thing that never happens.
Every framework, template, and piece of advice is written specifically for the way salons actually work.
You can’t be chosen by people who can’t find you. Getting seen is step one.
Showing up every week will always beat showing up perfectly once.
